Hawkes’ Impossible Portraits

Real faces.

Impossible places.

Hawkes’ Impossible Portraits transforms families – and the animals who are part of them – into extraordinary personalized works of visual storytelling, then turns those images into premium physical and digital products designed to be displayed, shared, and remembered.

Now preparing for commercial launch. Seeking up to $25,000 in launch funding.

A Family Portrait That Could Never Have Existed

The Technology Has Already Been Demonstrated

Earlier Hawkes development established the core identity-transfer workflow: an ordinary customer photograph could be transformed into substantially different historically designed compositions while preserving recognizable identity.

The precursor application progressed beyond proof-of-concept imagery. Its customer workflow was implemented and successfully exercised end-to-end in development. Hawkes’ Impossible Portraits is being built from that existing software foundation rather than from scratch.

Every Purchase Creates a New Distribution Surface

Private by default. Public discovery only by customer choice.

Because the Family Gallery exists within the existing Hawkes Adventures website, the Partner With Us link will be subtly present, providing visitors the opportunity to join Hawkes’ affiliate program.

A restrained visual roadmap:

Why Hawkes Exists

For most of my career, I’ve built things with technology.

Sometimes that meant software. Sometimes complex systems. More recently, it has meant finding ways to combine artificial intelligence, visual creation, storytelling, personalization, and the web into experiences that couldn’t have existed a few years ago.

Hawkes’ Impossible Portraits is the clearest expression yet of what has always excited me about that work.

Sometimes that meant software. Sometimes complex systems. More recently, it has meant finding ways to combine artificial intelligence, visual creation, storytelling, personalization, and the web into experiences that couldn’t have existed a few years ago.

I don’t particularly want to make something and have you stand outside looking at it.

I want you to come inside.

I want to build an experience and invite you into it – to give you something you couldn’t ordinarily experience, and then let your presence change it.

That’s what makes an Impossible Portrait different for me from simply creating a beautiful image. The world may begin with something I’ve imagined and systems I’ve built, but it isn’t finished until you enter it. Your face is there. Your spouse is there. Your children are there. Your pets are there. It becomes your family’s impossible place and moment.

And then you can share that experience with other people.

That idea – turning an audience into participants – is the thread connecting much of the work I’ve found most satisfying over the years. The technology has changed enormously. What I can build with it has changed even more.

Today, AI makes it possible to create experiences I once wouldn’t have known how to make at all: worlds that can be constructed around particular people rather than merely shown to them.

That’s what Hawkes is becoming.

Not simply a publishing company, an AI art business, or a collection of products, but a place for creating experiences people can enter, make their own, and share with the people who matter to them.

What Still Has to Be Proven

Customer Acquisition

The $149 product has not yet established cold-market CAC.

Production Scaling

The underlying workflow has been demonstrated, but HIP’s multi-person/pet implementation must prove itself under commercial order volume.

Generative Variability

Personalized generation requires quality-control systems because individual outputs can vary.

Market Response to AI

Some customers have objections to generative imagery; positioning and creative must demonstrate the customer value rather than relying on “AI” as the product proposition.

Hawkes Is Preparing to Cross the Commercialization Line

NSH Publishing LLC is seeking up to $25,000 in launch funding to complete the remaining Hawkes’ Impossible Portraits production work and conduct its Founder and initial public-market validation.

The appropriate funding structure has not yet been predetermined. The immediate objective is to identify a financial partner—or an introduction to one—who sees sufficient promise in the demonstrated product and commercialization plan to begin that conversation.
